Do not buy the Pentium-M CPU based notebooks. These are not designed for intensive graphic processing.
Also, IBM notebooks usually have a so-so graphic card. If you really want to do some serious things, look for machines with high-end graphic cards.
Moreover, 15-inch screen does not necessary translate into higher resolution. For most IBM notebooks, especially R series, 14-inch and 15-inch actually often have the same resolution of 1024 x 768. Therefore, unless you connect to an external screen, it really does not make too much difference. What you really need to look into is whether the 15-inch has higher resolution such as 1400 x 1050 or even 1600 x 1200.
