这个美国朋友有大学教育水平，很年轻但很爱思考。他针对西方媒体在报道XI*ZANG问题表现出的偏颇立场提出了自己的观点，我觉得很好，原文如下：

　　 I think that most of the reason people in the west tend to take the side of the l@m@ isn’t really because they trust him, but its more the fact that they trust the Chinese government less. A lot of people here seem to think that everything the Chinese government says is a lie. A lot of it is, and some are pretty obvious lies. For example, the government went to the UN and told the members "China does not block sites on the internet. Any problems are technical problems." Things like that make westerners in general doubt what China is saying, and controlling what reporters can see only makes things worse. Really its just a difference between siding with someone who might be telling the truth and someone we’re pretty sure lies really really often.

　　“我认为西方人大部分站在LA*MA一边的原因并非是真的相信他，而是相较之下更不相信中国政府。现在很多西方人倾向于觉得中国政府所说的一切都是谎言，甚至很多是明显的谎言。举例而言，中国政府在联合国大会说中国政府没有对因特网实施封锁，一切都只是技术问题。类似这样的言论只能使得西方人对中国政府在这件事上的所言大部分产生怀疑，而控制西方媒体报道此事更加深了这种怀疑。

　　 所以，这件事基本上是西方媒体在‘一个有可能说出事实的人’和‘一个被确定经常说谎的人’之间作出的选择。
