First, San Zi church--dummy of gov. donot worry. All corrupted.

Second, underground church--segmented, divided by different denominations. If you read the bible by yourself--the teaching of Jesus is very clear: love your neighbor as yourself; God to God, Caesar to Caesar (spiritially, Jesis is the lord-follow his teaching in your life; but also respect the secular power and king).

Some underground church practised extreme worship, but they are outlawed as "heresy" by fellow Christians and could not do harm.

Third, protestant church is segmented (if you live in States, you will understand immediately), lacking central power, unlike Catholic church.

Fourth, Catholic Church is always a competitor to secular power. It was true ever since its birth. Western European kings have been fighting Rome for centuries. Its power only fell after 19th century. In most part of Europe (excluding Ireland, Italy)/US, Catholic church is no longer a threat to secular power and ACTUALLY, most protestant nations are highly suspicious of Rome due to historical fights, and America is just one of them. JFK was disliked by many Americans just because he is IRISH and CATHOLIC.

Rome is not a threat to China because CCP has never tolerated any existence of the Catholic church from Rome. Domestic San Zi Catholic has no link to Rome any more.

The communist ideology is dead--that's the true threat to China. When one idealogy is confident and dynamic, you never ask that "threat" question. At least, it did not happen during 1940-50s.

Most Chinese have empty hearts with only traditional values guiding their daily life now. Even this minimum level of moral is facing more and more challenge from a materialistic society and high-rising real estate valuation.

China's true threat is ITSELF.
