My only concern is it still can not produce the key component: engine. I remember its engine was imported from Toyota. Quality of a car is determined by three key components: engine, transmission, brake. Usually, all global car makers at least will control the first two--core of one firm.
Exterior design can be easily outsourced. There are many Italian design shops.
After he got Volve, the key is to absorb its key component tech as well as production know-how. Good news is that Chinese learn fast if they get access to such info and knowledge.
