如果美国经济继续不死不活，失业率继续企高，这个时候的民众中间，半仙人物（demigod）的出现非常有民心渴求。
在今天CNBC对他（新书出版）的访谈里，老保看起来也知道民心所向，他说：
“What I say in the book is that when I ran with Goldman Sachs, even during benign times, I had felt the compensation in the industry seemed out of whack, and I would occasionally go off in partners meetings and say something to the effect, 'I hope you guys all understand,' and remind them, 'people don't like you. Very few people do,'”
