Ph.D. graduates become post-doc mostly because they lose out in the competition for high-pay industry or school professor jobs--BTW, it is usually fair game in States for those kind of jobs. Therefore, post-docs are often losers.
In the business school, seldom a Ph.D. graduate will pursue a post-doc. If one does that, you can be 100% sure that that one is a loser in the job market.
