家园 和中文的野鸡大学还是有区别的。

“State approval indicates that the Bureau for Private and Postsecondary Vocational Education has determined and certified that an institution meets required standards for integrity, financial stability and educational quality, including the offering of bona fide instruction by qualified faculty and the appropriate assessment of students’ achievements before, during, and at the end of its programs of study.” (As quoted on the California Education Department website.)

看网上一个评价(似乎是美国人的,我认为比较中肯,也是对上面蓝字部分的注解):

I think that California standards were always pretty minimal, compared to accreditation standards. What they tell us is that a school really exists (and isn't just a website and a mail-drop) and has real teachers who seem qualified to teach whatever it is that they are teaching. Instruction actually takes place. "Life-experience" credit isn't being abused. A syllabus exists that requires an appropriate number of credit-hours. Disclaimers are made and a refund policy is in place. And so on. That's why I'm hesitant to call California-approved schools 'mills'.

不过这个学校的MBA accreditation在分家后,花了几年时间算是搞定了。
