Actually, I like it. Mao Zetong is also the representative of an interest group ---- a large portion of the people. That's where the communist party got its strength and support and I'd say it was quite stupid to throw the whole basis away in the 80s' and 90s'.
Nowadays, when I wanna analyze the so-called "National interest", I always look at interest groups instead. Much more logical I would say.
