I''m sure we all started out as noobs at some point... so...

Trying to fight an oddly powerful tank that takes your 300+ shells for 10dmg? finding that you simply can''t kill someone?

More likely than not, you''re probably:

A) being nailed with critical hits

B) hitting enemy tanks in the front

C) in a way too low level tank

D) not using skills or items

A. Critical Hits and Aiming

I''m sure many of you did that nicely structured tutorial, right? (Shame on you if you didn''t and now regret it. You missed out on seeing the hot chicks in military uniforms! :D) Anyway, that tutorial teaches you the basics of aiming with the auto-aim function. Yes, it''s extremely easy to play the game with the thing, but it completely dampens your potential as a competitive player. Why? Well, it reduces your tank damage by 25% (so your 300dmg shot does a max of 225dmg, ouch) AND only gives you a 3% chance for a critical hit. So, go into your tank configuration. You''ll find a blue box either on the platform, or in your inventory. GET RID OF THAT EVIL, EVIL THING.

Now, go to any battlefield, and practice your aiming on NPCs or other players. With enough time and energy, you''ll get as good or better with it than you did with the auto. Plus, now you can do crit combos to completely own your opponents quickly and satisfactorily, since critical hits double your damage. (See the potential? Try for crits as best you can, upper-level players can get from 5-20 crits in a row)

B. Tank Armor and Weaknesses

Many times, in the higher-level fields, you''ll find that people''s tanks seem to NEVER die, and they keep taking only 5dmg, 10dmg, or 50dmg at most. More likely than not, you''re fighting an assault tank, which has over 150+ armor on the front. Now, don''t be the idiot and fall for this tank and it''s better armor amount.

Simply drive around players like these, or doubleteam on them from two sides, and constantly AIM for the SIDES, or BACK of these tanks. The armor on the sides are always normal levels or below, so they''ll take the normal 2xx or more damage. This works with pretty much any kind of opponent, so try to go for the sides rather than doing a front-front battle. (Of course, your tank is weaken like this as well, so employ strategies to not show your backsides to your opponent.

C. Upgrading and Parts

One of the best features I''ve found is simply the excessive amount of money you get. It''s literally impossible to run out unless you keep buying and selling tanks every time you die. Everytime you up an level and decide to return to the capital, remember to UPGRADE your tank. Although they''re not supremely different from one level to the next, that small amount could mean the difference between victory and defeat. Don''t worry, you''ll almost never need to care about your money amount. (Be careful that you''re using credits, and not VPs, which are HARDER TO EARN. VPs can be used to purchase really good tanks and parts, so sometimes it''ll be better to save them rather than use them. choose wisely.)

Once you reach level 4 or higher, remember to keep your tank add-ons filled with stuff like armor add-ons or ammo. That stuff is useful, so do employ it.

D. Skills and Items

Yeah, the tutorial goes into this, but doesn''t really emphasize how IMPORTANT and DECISIVE skills are. Oh, and items too, but those will run out and are a pain to keep filled. SKILLS use that energy bar below your health and can vary from repair skills to offensive skills that can literally stop your opponent''s tank. It is CRUCIAL that you occasionally check your Tank Commander and choose skills. Also, remember to PLACE THOSE SKILLS IN THE HOTKEY AREA, as it will get extremely limiting if you have to scroll for a skill every time. Items will also go into the hotkey area. If you find that you''re running out of spaces, there is a built-in way of getting more. Simply press SHIFT + (a number) to activate that keyset. So now you can construct several combinations to maximize your offensive abilities!

No, I''m not claiming these are the best or the only ways of playing. I just highly recommend you do at least do these things to keep yourself in top shape
