                      还记得当年六里桥摩托黑市的盛况,绝不亚于这儿的MOTORCYCLE RALLY。买卖牌照和带牌照的车可兴隆了 - 带牌照的报废车比新车可贵多了。

          This is one of my favorate bikes - just lack of power on highway so I traded it for a 1200cc v-twin after owning it for 9 months.

        First off, Harley's technology is probably 5 to 10 years behind of the Japanese.

        Secondly, Harley bike's reliability is terrible, or should I say, the same great reputation as its American car maker brothers...

        Yes it is true that those Japanese bikes started with copying Harley. But nowadays, the big-four has long left Harley behind.

          And do you know why even it's the case, many people still love Harley?

          I think "half the machine" it the key word. It give you a oppportunity to DIY, which is the most fun part of owning a motorcycle other than riding it. Harley's bike provide a great platform for the DIYers to sum up their creativities - from handlebars, pegs, tanks, air filters, pipes, seats, paints, to every bolts, lines, and lights. And less sophisticated technology allows an average handyman doing those DIYs without/less messing up the high tech components. Do you know you can really make a Harley from 883cc to 1200cc bike without changing the engine?

          And you know motorcycling in US is not a transportation but a hobby. For many people it's all about the fun rather than money when you have a hobby.

          I have no bias toward Japanese bikes - they are realiable with high tech, very practical, and cheaper.But after riding japanese bikes so many years, I converted into a Harley fan and never regreting.

            if your hobby is just weekend boulevard cruising, then half the machine will be fine.

            i ride motorcycle for long-trips to the national parks, often times 4,000-mile plus trips twice a year.

            i do not want to deal with some half-ass machine that will break down in the middle of the road.

              about the touring bikes for long-range riding. Obviously Honda's Gold Wing is the best in my opinion, but it not necessary mean that Harley's Road King, Road Glide, or Eletra Glide are not good enough for long-range touring, and I wouldn't call them half-ass machine.

                any Harley, but I have rented several times (> 10) from Eagle Rider with Road King, Electra Glide, Heritage Softail, Sportser, etc. They are like Volkswagen cars, always have this or that issues.

                For me, Japanese bikes have been 100% trouble-free, care-free. That's the difference.

                And the premium you paid on Harley, I bet you all of them went into Harley's marketing campaigns but not in your bike.

        有一次我在路口等绿灯,来了一辆摩托停在我右边,我转头一瞧,差点儿笑出声来:那老兄坐在车上,像筛糠似的,浑身上下随着车子乱抖,连腮帮子都一颤一颤的。。。

        平生就看到过那么一回。。。

      瓶子里装的应该是润肤之类的油脂吧,长途骑行,PP很受罪的,抹上这玩意儿估计会舒服很多!不会落下个红屁股!
