Feb. 16 (Bloomberg) -- The euro posted its biggest gain in a week against the U.S. dollar after a Greek official said the nation is ahead of its deficit-reduction targets and will not require any bailout from the European Union.
“There’s no actual need for a bailout,” Greece’s Finance Minister George Papaconstantinou said after a meeting of finance ministers in Brussels to review the nation’s plan to trim the EU’s biggest budget shortfall.
