American elites are highly concentrated in New England.
People living in high-tech state such as California often fail to see it. I do not have face-to-face contact with those elites until I moved to east coast.
Before that when I still live in California, I thought in a similar way as many Chinese here on this forum.
American political/economic elites are way smarter than their counterparties in China. Their national strategists are just supersmart bunch.
