经常有河友发信问我信息来源,我以前曾给某位河友回帖整理过,但是现在挖不到了,这里再补充一下,希望对大家有帮助:
(1)Itunes store 的 Free Podcast
NPR、纽约时报、Bloomberg、华尔街时报都有把每天的各种新闻做成Podcast供下载。没有苹果的器件也没关系,下一个Itunes的软件,然后上Itunes Store,Podcast这个分类下面免费的音频非常多。(当然,也可以上各个机构的网站去听,但没有这里这么集中,方便下载)
除了新闻之外,这里还有很多其他免费资源,比如Filmspotting(这是一个电影评论播客),Just Vocabulary (这是一个讲解GRE单词的播客),the history of Rome........

另外,楼下葡萄提到美国知名大学的开放课程。我知道去年初Academic Earth和Youtube合作来开发了一个这样的项目,当时是看《时代》杂志做的介绍,好像说主旨是推进全社会的知识共享,普及教育。
这是Academic Earth的发起人Richard Ludlow的介绍中的一段话:
Having used “OpenCourseWare” materials to supplement his own education, Richard knew not only how valuable this type of content is, but how much could be done to make it more accessible for people around the globe. He founded Academic Earth with the idea that centralizing online education resources, applying the latest tools in web development, and building a platform for rich community contributions could lead to a perpetually improving educational ecosystem that provided anyone with an internet connection access to teachings directly from some of the world’s greatest scholars.

每当在网络上看到这些资源的时候,就会想起当年学知识产权,张平老师说的话,她说知识产权法和人类希望通过网络共享知识的愿望相违背,迟早会走向消亡。我在想,如果各族裔的人能放下偏见和狭隘,通过互联网这个平台一起来解决我们共同面临的难题,在我们这个时代,地球可能真得会出现一次科技和文明的跃迁,比如这个事例让我们看到的端倪:

In his recently published book “Cognitive Surplus: Creativity and Generosity in a Connected Age” (Penguin Press), Clay Shirky, a professor of interactive telecommunications at New York University, argues that the emergence of these new collaborative tools is paving the way for a second scientific revolution in the same way the printing press created a demarcation between the age of alchemy and the age of chemistry.
“The difference between the alchemists and the chemists was that the printing press was used to coordinate peer review,” he said. “The printing press didn’t cause the scientific revolution, but it wouldn’t have been possible without it.”
Now, he says, the new tools are likely to set off a similar transformation.
