Bogen was acquired by Manfrotto at around year 2000, so now it is under the name of Manfrotto
Bogen was the no.1 choice for professional photographers. Not only for the leg stability, but the best head design.
Stick with the old Bogen design (those under Bogen name) for the leg, if you can't afford the Bogen head. All the head is interchangeable with any tripod legs, as they all fit the screw on the camera.
Bogen will NOT tilt or be blowed away easily.
Gitzo is good for really heavy duty setup, not really useful.
