if the ATP level in cell is too high, then the feedback inhibition will happen. the reaction is slowed down as the cell doesnot want to waste too much nutrient to produce ATP.

Not every enzyme-catalysed reaction is highly efficient.the bioreactions are strictly coordinated, this is so called homeostasis.
