家园 haha, customs houses have been shut down for the inter-nation market in Europe.
It is not 1920s where each European nation charged prohibitive customs duties on each other's export.
Even the EU-level customs has been relatively low due to multiple rounds of cuts under GATT negotiation in the last 6 decades.
Customs tariff is zero now for national gov., such as the Italian gov. You want to use that collateral?

家园 买是一定的，方式和理由过得去就行 给美国人打工这么多年，跟着拣点便宜是可能的，如果美国人不抽梯子，欧洲人不翻脸，自己不浪费倒也可行，的确是先提条件不少，实现起来真困难。希腊可以是个饵，也可能是个钩，最好是条鱼。

家园 要买就买实业买技术买股份，债券什么的，还是免了吧。 家园 买实业买技术，不如买专家；特别老欧洲一批工业行业退休专家 他们都有行业第一手的经验和技术，还有数据啥的。
只要能弄到中国相关行业，高薪养着当技术顾问（技术人员比较实在，不像商人），再搞些年轻好学尊重老专家的中国青年工人工程师，围着老师傅，很可能就把现在买不到的欧洲实业界的技术，给偷学到！

Europeans will create all kinds of trouble for you when you acquire their firms. Just the labor relation is going to kill all your investment as an equity investor.

Europeans are hypocritical gentlemen. When they are desperate, they are going to play dirty--when your army is not in Europe, do not imagine to earn profit from your equity at all.
You can ask those rich Jews before WWII what happened to their "stocks" in European firms.
China's response should be very simple: push Europe from 2nd class of countries into 4th class of countries and step on their throat to progress to be 2nd class of country; let them kill and fight each other.
China should take their overseas sphere of influence--places or interests that China can control in the future with short distance.

Without that, arrogant Russians will not put down their white superiority complex and move to China to sell their tech.
China needs to ensure that this downturn will be a long one, not for Chinese if the gov. can implement FDR-like policies, but for Europeans--so that Europe will finally start to sell AND SELL TO YOU AT BIG DISCOUNT.
You need to kick their ass and teach them a lesson that CHINESE ARE DOING THEM A FAVOR BY PAYING FOR THEIR TECH.
In the long run, Chinese should ask themselves a serious question: why SO MANY TSINGHUA TALENTED ENGINEERS MOVE TO STATES AND EUROPE TO produce new cutting tech for American and European firms?
China's firms suck and their management suck. That's simple. Japanese did much better than Chinese in absorbing and developing new technologies.
