1. TG will never go with 中华邦联 of 新加坡, TW, & potentially >100 million of overseas Chinese, that would be a nightmare to US/EU/JPY, period.

2. TG will keep GFW (in terms of keep 中国特色社会主义 politically & economically, although nobody will likely ever figure out what it is) for long long time, with that, it will be very difficult for Chinese companies, and Chinese people to compete in the global e commerce & AI commerce, in terms of branding, etc.

3. yes, TGchina's huge & growing 載體 will keep growing, regardless of its all kinds of issues, dilemma of tons, but, without political system reform, china will never have a market efficient system, capital as a resource will be cheated away by the elite with all kinds tricks, and as a result, TGchina's system will always have an energy leaking issue, etc;

with all the above, TGchina will be constantly facing the challenges, such as how to 改革 etc, but largely trapped within china surrounded by GFW, in terms of mind, information, market, etc.

and with all that, in the foreseeable future, the whole china will be constantly busy arguing with each other about "精神党与利益党 [ hullo ] 于:2014-04-22 07:31:13 复:4001009", basically 內鬥.

then the "net" outcome: uncle sam & his team to keep TG 管在裡面, meaning 管在 TGchina 裡面, and TG to 管 Chinese companies, Chinese people 在 GFW 裡面: this is basically a leveraged trade: Uncle sam & his team to leverage TG to get china dragon restrained within mainland, for as long as possible.

of course, this is all wild guess, but in the sense of 知己知彼 百戰不殆, I hope people don't get upset & emotional, and I never understand why people get upset & emotional in an anonymous public forum like this, except for those TG 挡小組 folks (paid);

and for an individual or for a nation, once fell behind mentally, it is very difficult to catch up with those those smarties, if ever possible.
